Korbak

The Korbak are a sapient race in the Big Blue. Hailing from the Korbak World, they were forced to migrate to Cerulea by the death of their sun. Korbak possess feline features, such as fur, whiskers, pointed ears and long, thin tails. Their feline irises are slitted in the centre, and vibrant, from green to yellow, blue to red, and they have excellent night vision. Their claws and teeth, aided by the acute hearing and eyesight, make them formidable hunters of bird and small mammals to sustain their obligatorily carnivorous diet.

Their specialisation for hunting allows them to go unseen and unheard more easily, especially at night, and they have a good sense of balance. However, having come to Cerulea not so long ago, they have not yet adapted to living the water world; they are capable of swimming short distances, but are far more formidable on dry land as they tire easily in the water and are much less manoeuvrable.

The Korbak language, Korbakku, is the descendant of their ancestral tongue, one of the only remnants of their old world. Many Korbak consider themselves a people in exile, though they have embraced life within the Iguanid Empire: their mutual love for administration and order, and a similar reverence for the sun's warmth, allow for a fusion of culture and syncretism of religion between the Korbak and the Iguanids. Indeed, the Empire took them in after they lost their home, providing a place for them to make a new life. Therefore, in addition to Korbakku, most Korbak speak the Iguanid language, and often Common as well.
